Morden Wharf
London Borough of Greenwich

The proposed development site had been vacant for a number of years having originally formed part of the Greenwich Glucose Refinery. The Council was engaged on a proposal to reuse one of the old industrial buildings as a processing plant for the production of biomass fuel feedstocks and renewable electricity generation to the grid. The client was advised that a CLOPUD application should be made instead of a formal application for planning permission, thus saving the significant expense of undertaking a full technical assessment of the scheme. The procedure was agreed with Council Officers in pre-application discussions and an application was made supported by a legal opinion (which we directly instructed under DPA). The CLOPUD was duly issued in February 2013. We have also obtained Council approval for equivalent installations in Walsall and Tilbury.
