Zero-carbon housing development approved in Plymouth
We have secured planning permission for a new zero carbon residential development of 91 dwellings designed to Code 6 ene1 standard with assembly facility, employment and live-work units on a greenfield site in Bickleigh Down and within the administrative areas of Plymouth City Council and South Hams District Council. Future residents will be offered the chance to engage in the process of designing and building their new homes with the adoption of a ‘custom build’ design code approach that allows home buyers to customize an ‘off-the-shelf’ kit house design with a choice of external appearances, internal layouts and low energy products. Each home will be powered by a large roof-integrated Photovoltaic Solar (PV) panel array capable of supplying enough green electricity to meet all typical annual energy bills.
